Tweaking Windows 10 And Fixing Minor Annoyances
Windows 10 has already resolved quite a few annoyances that had been left behind from the Windows 8, but there are some that are native to Windows 10 itself. In order to optimize your version of windows you should learn some tweaking tricks for Windows 10 and get rid of these minor annoyances.
Start by fixing the Start Menu that comes with Windows 10. Microsoft brought back the not-so-loved Start Menu of Windows 8 in Windows 8.1 but now it has been revamped in Windows 10. It seems pretty good now, though. Still there are some things that you’d like tweaking and they are given below.
Size of live tile space should be adjusted by dragging Start Menu’s right edge when it is open. It can be made almost 4 columns wide. Whole menu can also be resized by dragging its top edge.
Start Menu can be made full screen as well by following these commands. Settings>Personalization>Start. Now turn on “Use Start Full Screen” option. It will become similar to using the Start Screen of Windows 8.
Live tiles should be right clicked and you should then choose “Turn Live Tile Off” for making it regular tile. You need to Unpin all tiles on Start Menu’s right side for making single column menu and there won’t be any live tiles.
Another important tweak is removing “Quick Access” option from file explorer. This new area of File Explorer replaces Favourite section of Windows 8. If you don’t like the folder getting cluttered up, you can change default view of File Explorer to make it “This PC”. Go to File Explorer and click View>Options. Now click on General tab and change “Open File Explorer to” and set new value “This PC”. It is also possible to completely remove Quick Access feature but that will require a complicated process to be followed.
