MacBook Air is clearly different than Pro due to apple has integrated the latest Intel processor and generation. MacBook Air although has been improved compare to older versions. Weight and Dimensions

Over the years, Apple has lightened the weight of MacBook pro, but the MacBook Air still considered the lightest laptop in the market.

MacBook Air 2020 weight is only 1.28 kg and the 13-inch MacBook Pro is 1.38 kg. If you travel a lot or fancy a lightweight laptop, buy MacBook Air and you won’t regret.

Both Apple laptops are equipped with latest intel chipset, touch ID and retina display. Both Mac version offers wider sound with Dolby atmos audio, 3 microphones with directional beamforming. If you consider of having Apple MacBook for video rendering purposes, MacBook Pro 16” should be your first priority.

Processor and RAM (Performance)

The MacBook Air and Pro no works with latest 10th generation intel processor. But it does not mean the Air i5 with 10th generation processor can outclass Pro i9, 9th generation.

MacBook Air i3 and i5 processor with 8th GB of the RAM is designed to accomplish certain tasks and it won’t be slow or sluggish as you might think. The battery timing is up to 12 hours and 30 hours standby. MacBook Air 2020 has 256 GB and 512 GB built-in capacity, but it can be increased up to 2TB which is highly enough to store almost 1464000 photos and 70 hours of 4K video files.

It does allow users up to 30 hours of standby and 12 hours while using for example watching video and etc. MacBook Pro battery timing is almost 8 hours having similar tasks.

Apple did not change MacBook Pro and MacBook Air number of ports to attach external devices. It’s important to consider number of USB ports before buying it. I guess, having same number of ports on both MacBook makes it easier to decide as it comes with 2 USB-C ports on the left and headphone jack on the right side. The is not the same with MacBook Pro 16” (we call it a beast version) comes with 4 USB – C Parts.

MacBook Pro and MacBook Air has a major difference for having intense graphical work. MacBook air has built in intel graphics card. MacBook Air comes with Intel Iris Plus Graphics 645 Chipset which is basic intel Ultra HD graphics.

MacBook pro comes with slightly better graphics card than MacBook Air but the MacBook Pro 16-inch comes with intel UHD 630 and AMD Radeon pro graphic card to handles very well intense graphic work, gaming or during video rendering.
